Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, celebrated Tamil New Year (Puthandu) on April 14, 2025, with devotion and traditional fervor. The day began at 5:00 AM with Mangala Arati, followed by Suprabhatham and Vedic chanting. A special puja was performed at 7:00 AM, accompanied by devotional singing.
A Homa (fire ritual) was conducted at 10:00 AM, followed by a discourse at 11:00 AM by Swami Nityadipananda, highlighting the spiritual significance of the Tamil New Year. Special Arati took place at 12:00 PM, concluding the morning celebrations.
Over 200 devotees attended the daytime programme, and cooked prasad and sweet were served to around 520 people, marking the end of the celebration with a spirit of joy and sharing.
The evening Arati at 6:30 PM was followed by uplifting bhajans, adding a serene close to the day’s observances.
