New Lift Inaugurated: A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Devotees & Donors

Breaking Barriers: Elderly Devotees Can Now Access the Temple via New Lift

By the grace of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda, we are pleased to announce that the project for the Installation of a Passenger Lift at Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, has been successfully completed and is now open for public use.


A Blessed Inauguration on a Holy Day
The lift was formally inaugurated on November 29th, a day of immense spiritual significance as it marked the Holy Janma Tithi (Birth Anniversary) of Swami Premananda Maharaj. The event was a spiritual milestone for the Math, conducted with traditional solemnity:

  • Devotional Bhajans: The event commenced with a session of bhajans.

  • Addresses:Swami Nityadipanandaji Maharaj and Swami Arkaprabhanandaji Maharaj addressed the gathering. They explained how the lift addresses a long-standing need for accessibility and formally thanked the donors for their support.

  • Formal Inauguration: After performing Arati to the Holy Trio with Vedic chants and stotras, Revered Swami Kamalatmanandaji Maharaj untied the ribbon and inaugurated the lift.

  • Prasad: The celebration concluded with lunch prasad served to approximately 40 devotees.


Impact of Your Contribution

Until recently, many of our senior devotees found it challenging to climb the steps to the temple for Darshan. With the completion of this lift, the temple is now fully accessible to all, ensuring that physical limitations no longer stand in the way of spiritual practice.
