Ramakrishna Math Madurai celebrated, the 191st Jayanti (birthday) of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna with Special puja, Bhajans, Homa, discourse, and Arati, on February 19, 2026. The day commenced at 5:00 AM with Mangala Arati, Vedic chants & bhajans. The special puja to Sri Ramakrishna started at 7:00 am. Temple Pradakshina, along with Namavalis and Bhajan singing, took place from 6:30 am to 7:30 am.
Breakfast was served to around 30 devotees who attended the early morning session. The morning festivities resumed at 8:00 am with Vedic chanting performed by Vedic scholars for an hour.
Bhajans were sung from 9:00 am to 10:15 am. Students and teachers carried Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna's portrait in a procession, singing Namavalis, from the school to the temple prayer hall and performed Bhajans at the temple. The homa, a sacred fire ritual, took place at 10:20 AM. Following this, at 11:20 AM, Swami Nityadipananda delivered a discourse on the life and teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna. Approximately 820 devotees participated in the celebration and received noon prasad.
The evening session began with the Sandhya Arati at 6:30 PM, followed by Sri Ramakrishna Nama Sankirtanam and Bhajans until 8:00 PM, bringing the day’s spiritual observances to a peaceful close
