On 11 December 2025, Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, celebrated the 173rd Birth Anniversary of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi with devotion and enthusiasm.
The day commenced at 5:00 am with Mangala Arati, chanting of Sri Durga Suktam & Sri Medha Suktam & bhajans. The special puja to Sri Ramakrishna started at 6:30 am Temple Pradakshina, along with Namavalis and Bhajan singing, took place from 6:30 am to 7:30 am.
Breakfast was served to around 35 devotees who attended the early morning session, and the morning session continued with special bhajans at 8:30 AM.
Bhajans were sung from 8:30 am to 10:20 am. Students and teachers carried Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi's portrait in a procession, singing Namavalis, from the school to the temple prayer hall and performed Bhajans at the temple. The homa, a sacred fire ritual, took place at 10:30 AM. Following this, at 11:15 AM Swami Nityadipananda delivered a discourse on the life and teachings of Holy Mother, highlighting her message of compassion and selfless service, inspiring the assembled devotees.
The morning session concluded with Arati and prasadam distribution, with 900 devotees partaking of the cooked meal.
In the evening, Arati, Sri Ma Nama Sankirtanam and special bhajans were conducted from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, marking a fitting conclusion to the day's spiritual observances.
