Community Participation in National Programme
On 2nd August 2026, Ramakrishna Math, Madurai organised a short programme from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm in connection with the nationwide launch of the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” initiative of the Government of India, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
About 150 participants including students, teachers, professors, and devotees attended the programme. All participants took an oath against drug abuse in Tamil.
Sri Manikandan, Yoga teacher, spoke on the benefits of Yoga, while Dr. C.P. Ravindran, Psychiatrist from Madurai, highlighted the ill effects of substance abuse and shared practical measures to prevent its spread among youth.
The audience also viewed the live event from Delhi where the Hon’ble Prime Minister addressed the nation virtually. His speech in Hindi was translated into Tamil for the participants.
The programme concluded with the serving of meals to all attendees.
