A spiritual program, Japa Yajnam, was held at Ramakrishna Math, Madurai on Sunday, 22nd June 2025. The event started at 9:00 am with Arati and Bhajans and concluded by 1:00 pm. Around 250 devotees took part in the program.
The event included:
Bhajans: Devotional songs were sung at the beginning, during intervals, and at the end to create a devotional atmosphere.
Talk on the Importance of Nama Japa: Swami Nityadipananda spoke on the significance of chanting the name of God as a means of spiritual purification and inner peace.
Introduction & Guidance: Swami Arkaprabhananda provided an orientation and led the devotees through the practice of Japa with clarity and focus.
Nama Japa Practice: Three silent Japa sessions were conducted, each lasting about 30 minutes. Devotees chanted the name of their chosen deity silently.
Reading from Gospel: Selected portions from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna were read aloud.
Guided Prayer: Devotees were introduced to practical methods of prayer aimed at cultivating divine love and surrender.
The program ended with Arati. Cooked prasadam was served to all participants.
