On the sacred day of Sri Shankara Jayanti,12th May 2024, a significant event took place at Ramakrishna Math, Madurai. Revered Swami Kamalatmanandaji Maharaj handed over the charges of Adhyaksha to Swami Nityadipananda. The formal handover occurred in the revered presence of Sri Sri Thakur in the temple at 8:30 am.
Following the formal handover, a public meeting was arranged from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm in the Sarada Vidyalaya prayer hall to introduce Swami Nityadipananda to the devotees and to honor Srimat Swami Kamalatmanandaji Maharaj for his exemplary service to Madurai Math and the devotees of Tamil Nadu over the past 24 years.
The event witnessed heartfelt speeches and felicitations from 13 monks from our Order and other organizations, 3 Matajis, and 8 devotees who shared their experiences and praised Maharaj's dedicated service. The gathering included 35 monks, Matajis, and more than 800 devotees, friends, and well-wishers, all coming together to express their gratitude and admiration.
The meeting was a beautiful confluence of reverence, gratitude, and new beginnings. Devotees and monks alike spoke highly of Swami Kamalatmanandaji Maharaj's contributions and his profound impact on the spiritual and communal life of Madurai Math. Swami Nityadipananda was warmly welcomed, and the community expressed their support and best wishes for his new role as Adhyaksha.
In the spirit of service and dedication, the Ramakrishna Math, Madurai looks forward to continuing its mission under the new Adhyaksha, upholding the values and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda.
