Most Rev. Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj's Visit and Initiation
The devotees of Madurai were filled with spiritual joy as Most Revered Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, the President of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, paid a holy visit to Ramakrishna Math, Madurai from June 1st to June 3rd, 2026.
Throughout his stay, Revered Maharaj blessed the monastic brothers and the local congregation with his profound wisdom, love, and spiritual guidance.
Key Highlights of the Visit
•Evening Blessings (June 1st & 2nd): On both evenings, following the regular Sri Ramakrishna evening Arati, hundreds of gathered seekers eagerly queued up to receive the personal blessings of Revered Maharaj.
•Mantra Deeksha (June 2nd): In a significant spiritual milestone for the center, Revered Maharaj granted sacred Mantra Deeksha (spiritual initiation) to 75 seekers, formally guiding them onto the path of inner life.
•Special Discourse (June 2nd): After the evening Arati on Tuesday, Revered Maharaj delivered an inspiring public lecture that emphasized the power of Bhakti (devotion) and total surrender to Sri Ramakrishna. He highlighted the transformation of Girish Babu, a devotee who exemplified total surrender, showing that even those who once considered themselves 'sinners' can attain high spiritual states through unwavering devotion and reliance on Sri Ramakrishna.
Revered Maharaj left Madurai Math for Ramanathapuram on June 3rd at around 9:40 AM. After his programs in Ramanathapuram and Rameswaram, he returned to Madurai Math on the evening of June 5th before departing for Chennai on the morning of June 6th.
