On Friday, December 6, 2024, Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, hosted a Thiruvilakku Puja at the Sarada Vidyalaya premises. The sacred event began at 6:00 PM, bringing together parents, teachers, and students in a heartfelt act of worship.
Thiruvilakku Puja is a traditional method of worshiping the universal Mother by invoking her presence in a lamp and offering prayers to her as a symbol of light. This practice, cherished by women devotees across Tamil Nadu, is believed to bestow spiritual blessings and ensure the well-being of family members.
Event Highlights
- A grand lamp (Kuthu Vilakku) was beautifully decorated on stage to resemble the divine Mother, serving as the central focus of worship.
- Teachers demonstrated the ritual by guiding participants step by step, ensuring everyone could actively take part in the puja with understanding and reverence.
- Each participant had their own small lamp in front of them, following the teacher's instructions to perform the worship in unison, creating a mesmerizing and sacred ambiance.
The event witnessed enthusiastic involvement, with:
- 45 students from Sarada Vidyalaya.
- 65 parents of the students.
- 28 Teachers, making the total participation count 138 people.
