Blood Donors Save Lives at Ramakrishna Math Madurai
A blood donation camp was organized by Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023, at the ashrama premises. Forty-two people donated blood on that day. The camp was conducted with the help of Rajaji Government Hospital. The hospital staff conducted the screening and collection of blood in a hygienic and professional manner.
The donors were given certificates of appreciation and refreshments after the donation. The camp was a great opportunity to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of blood donation among the people.
According to the World Health Organization, blood donation can save up to three lives per unit of blood donated. India faces a shortage of 1.9 million units of blood every year. Therefore, every drop of blood counts.
