On June 4, Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, organized Thiruvasagam Mutrothal (Recitation of whole Thiruvasagam), a spiritual event on Siva worship.
திருவாசகம் முற்றோதல் (Recitation of whole Thiruvasagam) is a devotional practice of reciting the entire collection of Tamil hymns composed by Manikkavasagar, a 9th-century Shaiva poet-saint. Thiruvasagam means "sacred utterance" and it contains 51 poems that praise Lord Shiva. The recitation of Thiruvasagam is believed to confer blessings, peace and liberation to the devotees.
The event started at 8.40 am and ended at 1.50 pm. Swami Kamalatmanandaji delivered an introductory talk on the topic.. Cooked Prasadam was served to all the 270 devotees who joined the program.
