Value Education Camp at Thampi Thottam Higher Secondary School
From February 12th to February 24th, 2024, Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, conducted a 12-day value education camp at Thampi Thottam Higher Secondary School. The camp was organized at the school's request to impart moral values to students from remote villages. Thampi Thottam Higher Secondary School is located in Dindigul district, approximately 60 km from Madurai Math.
Camp Overview:
A total of 562 students participated in the camp, divided into the following levels:
- Level 1 (Std I & II): 94 students
- Level 2 (Std III to V): 148 students
- Level 3 (Std VI & VII): 113 students
- Level 4 (Std VII & IX): 207 students
Activities and Sessions:
The camp was led by trained teachers from Ramakrishna Math Sarada Vidyalaya, who conducted various activities designed to instill moral values. These activities included devotional singing, moral stories, interactive sessions, and plays. On the first day, Swami Arkaprabhananda addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of moral values in their lives. The trained teachers carried out the subsequent sessions, ensuring that the teachings were effectively imparted.
Positive Impact:
The camp had a notable positive impact on the students. Many adopted good habits such as applying Tilak, engaging in daily prayers, being punctual, showing respect to elders, and helping others. These changes in behavior reflect the effectiveness of the value education imparted during the camp.
